NOA tasks quantity surveyors on professionalismPosted: 14 years ago |
The Director General, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Mike Omeri has advised the Nigeria Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) to apply strict penalty to its members who violate existing regulations.
Omeri said this during a courtesy visit by the senate members of the NIQS, FCT chapter to his office last week wednesday 8th of May. He said the cases of infrastructure collapse across the country would drastically reduce if the concept of “Do the right thing” campaign by his agency permeates the institute.
He said that henceforth, no bidder for any form of procurement will receive consideration in NOA without proof of due certification by the NIQS within the provisions of the Procurement Act.
In his address, the chairman of NIQS FCT Chapter, Mr. Abbar Tor said “we have observed the transparent manner in which you conclude the last procurement exercise. It is a model for all MDAs to emulate.”
